Yearly tradition: Strawberry picking

We love summer, we love sun and we love strawberries on a sunny summer day. So what would be more obvious than go for strawberry picking? Right, nothing… Last year we went the first time together with C to a strawberry plant (see last year´s post here) and it was so great as it brought memories back when I went with my mom as a child. I spontaneously decided on a warm morning in middle of June to go and get some of those sweet fruits.

Said and done: Dressed my little daughter (the matching strawberries dress was simply perfect for an activity like that), packed her in the car and we left. We went again to Storz Erdbeerkulturen at Siemensallee 4 in Munich and there were almost no people on the field on a Monday morning. I would say: Jackpot. And of course I didn´t miss out on taking some photos of my lovely girl picking and eating strawberries. What we managed to bring home we took with us to the swimming pool in the afternoon the same day.

For those who don´t manage to fill up a basket on their own you also have the chance to buy the strawberries there without picking them on your own. You even can buy special sugar for making jam yourself. Do you also love strawberry picking? Or are there any other fruit plants you like to go? Then please let me know – there are never enough ideas what to do with a toddler on a free day.
