Your third birthday
And there we are… After weeks of waiting and preparing. Your birthday. To be exact, already your third birthday. If someone had told me years ago that I was looking forward to a day more than to Christmas and my own birthday, I probably would have laughed loudly. But it’s the truth, your birthday is this one special day in my life. The day that a part of me and your papa became you. The day that made me a mom and since this day there’s nothing, yeah really nothing like it was before.
I love to see you happy
Often I asked you what you wanted for your birthday and your answer was every time “eat and drink and cake.” You were mostly excited about when it rang at the door and you could call “who is theeeeere? “. We celebrated your birthday with the whole family and the day after with your friends. It was wonderful and I love to see you so happy. Happy not to have many gifts, but happy because you are so loved by all of us.

Dein dritter Geburtstag
Und da war er auf einmal… Nach Wochen des Wartens und Vorbereitens. Dein Geburtstag. Um genau zu sein, dein dritter Geburtstag schon. Hätte mir damals jemand gesagt, dass ich mich mal auf einen Tag mehr freue, als auf Weihnachten und meinen eigenen Geburtstag zusammen, hätte ich wahrscheinlich lauthals losgelacht. Aber es ist so, dein Geburtstag ist einfach der besonderste Tag in meinem Leben. Der Tag an dem ein Teil von mir und deinem Papa leibhaftig zu dir wurde. Der Tag, der mich zur Mama machte und seit dem nichts, also wirklich gar nichts mehr so ist wie es vorher war.
Ich liebe es, dich so glücklich zu sehen
Oft habe ich dich gefragt, was du dir zum Geburtstag wünschst und deine Antwort lautete jedes Mal “Essen und Trinken und Kuchen”. Du hast dich am aller meisten darüber gefreut, wenn es an der Türe geklingelt hat und du rufen konntest “Wer ist daaaaaa?”. Gefeiert haben wir mit der ganzen Familie und am Tag danach mit deinen Freundinnen. Es war wundervoll und ich liebe es, dich so glücklich zu sehen. Glücklich nicht über viele Geschenke, sondern glücklich, weil du von allen über alle Maße geliebt wirst.
